In 1947, Pierre Jallatte founded a shoe manufacturing company at Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort in the Cévennes mountains, in the royal barracks built by Vauban in the eighteenth century.

Driven by his inspired intuition, he began manufacturing safety boots with steel toecaps, which were sold in the French market. In this way, he created a new market that rapidly took on considerable importance.
